Performers get 10 minutes. Other than that, there are no rules! We also have books of poetry, given to us by authors who have performed at the Gathering... so, even if you nothing of your own, you can still perform!

Vic Sadot is co-host of the Berkeley Community Open Mic Night, 2nd Friday of each month. Next Open Mic: Friday, April 12 at 7 pm, at Fellowship Hall, 1924 Cedar St (at Bonita Ave) in Berkeley. Wheelchair Accessible. []
He is a singer-songwriter based in Berkeley, CA who is best known for his tribute song "Broadside Balladeer" dedicated to the late-great Phil Ochs, "Courage To Resist" about Private Bradley Manning, and "Cheney's in the Bunker" about 9/11 Truth which became a hit song on No Lies Radio [].
Vic Sadot has been singer-songwriter for over 40 years, and he has been based in Berkeley, California since autumn 2008. Vic writes in the tradition of “Broadside, the National Topical Song Magazine” of Sis Cunningham and Gordon Friesen, and his songwriter heroes, Woody Guthrie and Phil Ochs. Vic is probably best known for his tribute song to Phil Ochs, “Broadside Balladeer”, and for his song for war crimes whistle-blower Bradley Manning, “Courage To Resist”. His recent update of his “No Nuke Blues” was featured on Sandy LeonVest's Progessive Radio show “Political Analysis” after Vic met her through her Facebook site called “Solar Times”.
Younger brother Rob Sadot plays electric guitar and has been a big part of the sound and style of Vic's recordings over the years. He visited Vic from the east coast and they recorded three songs in Berkeley's Robot Envy Studio. One of those songs, “Full Spectrum Dominance” is now a free mp3 at SoundCloud. [], written by Vic Sadot for the visit of Bruce Gagnon, founder of the Global Network Against Nuclear Power and Weapons in Space []. Vic's “Full Spectrum Dominance” was first publicly performed before the speech of Bruce Gagnon on April 10, 2011 for the Social Justice Committee of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists in Historic Fellowship Hall.
